by on Sep.21, 2009 @ 9:16 pm, under Independent

The Ishikawa Million Stars clinched first place in the Hokuriku League for the second half of the season on Monday with a 4-2 victory over the Fukui Miracle Elephants.

Since the Million Stars won both the first half and second half seasons, they will face the Toyama Thunderbirds in the Regional Championships.

=== Update 9/22 @ 2:59pm

I forgot to mention that the Gumna Diamond Pegasus clinched first place in the Joshin-etsu League for the second half of the season on Saturday when they beat the Niigata Albirex Baseball Club, 6-2.

Like the Million Stars, they are winners of both the first and second half seasons and will therefore face the Niigata Albirex Baseball Club in the Regional Championships.
