Eri Yoshida’s First Official Start

Eri Yoshida made her first ever appearance as a starter on the 22nd against the Osaka Gold Villicanes at Skymark Stadium.

She went 5 innings and gave up 3 runs on 4 hits, 3 walks, and struck out none.  She threw 75 pitches and faced 21 batters.

Yoshida was perfect threw 3 innings but began to lose steam in the 4th.  In the 5th innings, with runners on second and third and 2 out, she gave up an inside-the-park home run.

The Osaka Gold Villicanes ended up beating the Kobe 9 Cruise, 8-0.

Interim manager Shinichi Murakami was impressed by Yoshida's outing and said that she may have earned herself another start on the 30th vs the Kishu Rangers.

    Any way of knowing if she recorded any assists/putouts?
    There’s been ‘concern’ about whether she can effectively field without getting injured by her male competitors.

      Unfortunately, none that I know of. But I did see some highlights on TV from her start that showed her coming off the mound and making a nice play on a bunt.
