For the first time in month, Yusei Kikuchi took the mound in front of a public audience and tossed 16 pitches during a practice session on the 25th.
Said Hanamki Higashi manager Sasaki, "He started throwing about a week ago. He wants to throw so badly, at least that's the vibe he's giving off, but since there's still a couple more days before we have a game, I'd like to hold off on having him throw too much."
The Japan Student Baseball Association reviewed 32 cases (1 college, 31 high school) of various misconducts on Friday and handed out their punishments. The one university case they examined involved Kansai University and three students that were arrested for attempted blackmail.
The other 31 cases all involved varying degrees of abuse, bullying, violence, smoking, and drinking cases at high school baseball clubs across Japan.
The following 7 teams were handed 6 months suspensions from playing any games against other teams:
Miyagi Suisan High School (Miyagi), 8/2 - 9/1, bullying within the team
Kotehashi High School (Chiba), 9/3 - 10/2, violence within the team
Shimabara Chuo High School (Nagasaki), 8/16 - 11/15, violence within the team, smoking
Saikai Gakuen High Shool (Nagasaki), 9/4 - 10/3, violence within the team
Chubu Shogyo High School (Okinawa), 8/26 - 2/25/2010, violence within the team, drinking
Ichinoseki High School (Iwate), 9/16 - 10/16, bullying within the team
Narita Seiryo High School (Chiba), 8/2 - 9/2, bullying within the team
The president / managers of the Fusa High School baseball club in Chiba was given a 6-month suspension for inappropriate conduct. And the vice president of the Ogaki Hihon High School baseball club was given a 3-month suspension for causing a player on the team to suffer a fractured chin that required 4 weeks for a full recovery.
Joso Gakuin pulled out of the Fall tournament due to the swine flu (5 players on the team caught it). The entire school is suffering an increase in students that have caught the flu. On the 19th, 4 classes were canceled. That number increased to 8 classes on the 24th as 36 students were diagnosed with the swine flu. The school later decided to shutter it's doors until the 30th and has canceled all sport events until then.

Takayuki Makka (真下貴之), lefty pitcher out of Tokai University Boyo High School. His fastball tops out at 145km/h and he has a curve that has a big drop.
...Yuki Saito held a bullpen session on Friday and tossed about 50 pitches in preparation for his start against Meiji University today. Saito is just 11 strike outs away from 250 career strike outs.

Harutaka Yamauchi (山内晴貴), lefty pitcher out of Kyushu Kyoritsu University. He has tossed 2 no hitters in his college career.
