...Taishi Nakagawa (Ni-gun INF) was diagnosed with the swine flu on the 29th and hospitalized.
...Takeshi Yamasaki hit his 150th home run in an Eagles' uniform on Tuesday night against the Softbank Hawks. He also drove in 3 RBIs in the game and now has 101 RBIs on the year.
...With their loss against the Chiba Lotte Marines on Tuesday, the Lions are now mathematically eliminated from being able to win the Pacific League title.
...Yuichi Honda was hit by a pitch on his left pinky in the third inning of a game against the Rakuten Eagles on Tuesday. He was a removed from the game prior to the top of the 4th and was taken the the hospital during the game for an examination.
According to the results of the test, there was nothing wrong with the pinky and Honda will likely be able to play on Wednesday.
...Hitoshi Tamura was in the starting line-up on Tuesday night, but was promptly removed as he wasn't feeling well enough to play.
...Ryoji Aikawa was taken off the active roster with a tear in his left flank (左脇腹の肉離れ). Aikawa injured the area while taking a swing on the 28th in a game against the Hanshin Tigers.
Aikawa will require about 4 weeks for a full recovery.
In other injury related news, Shinya Miyamoto was diagnosed with an avulsion fracture in his right thumb. This type of injury generally requires 6-8 weeks for a recovery, but Miyamoto will not be taken off the active roster and will try to play through the injury.
