Nippon Ham Fighters

...The Fighters announced that Ni-gun battery coach Kiyoshi Yamanaka will not be returning to the club next season.

Softbank Hawks

...Seven pitchers (including Toshiya Sugiuchi and Tadashi Settsu) from the Hawks will be going to a 7 night, 8 day spa retreat to help them recharge.

Yakult Swallows

...The Swallows announced that Norichika Aoki's surgery has been scheduled for November 15th.

The surgery itself is to remove supernumerary bones in both his ankles and the team expects a turn around time of about a month and half.

...Yuhei Takai continues to work on making the move from being a pitcher to becoming a position player.  During the Phoenix League this season, Takai went 11-for-48 (.229) over 12 games and collected 3 RBIs.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Hiroki Sanada will work out this off-season under the assumption that he will continue to be used out of the pen.

"This was my busiest season after turning pro but my shoulder and elbow are fine.  I feel a lot more confident about myself after being able to throw so many innings in relief.  I want to throw even more next season. ... It's too bad about this season.  I'll work on my lower body as much as possible so that I'll be able to throw a lot during Spring camp," said Sanada.

Yomiuri Giants

...The Giants announced earlier today (10/23) that 6 university students from Taiwan will be joining their Ni-gun team for practice.  The players will arrive on 10/30 and begin practicing with the team on the 31st.  No word on how long they will be with the Ni-gun team.
