Ten scouts from the NPB and MLB, including the Mets, Hanshin, and Softbank, were on hand to watch Shinta Hifumi (Tokai University Sagami HS) pitch.  He tossed a 9-inning complete game while giving up a run and striking out 8.

Said Softbank scout Sasagawa said, "After one winter passes, I'm sure he'll be able to hit 150km/h on the radar gun and become a solid first round draft pick candidate."
