by on Nov.03, 2009 @ 12:23 am, under NPB

The Eagles and Marty Brown have come to terms and a formal announcement will likely be made sometime next week.

Brown will be flying into Japan over the weekend and will be signing a contract sometime during the coming week.  The team will then hold a press conference to announce Brown before he meets up with his new team for fall practice.

"We need a strong presence on this inexperienced team.  We wanted someone who could think on the same level as the players," said team owner Toru Shimada.

Added Shimada, "He has the ability to find and nurture new talent. His contract is for 2-3 years.  We'll keep a medium-term outlook on how long he stays since we want to give him enough time to work on the team."

"He's a logical thinker.  In that sense, he's similar to the chairman Mikitani
