Katsuya Nomura just made an appearance on neo sports (TV Tokyo in Tokyo) and made the following comments:
In watching Shinnosuke Abe during the Nippon Series, he feels that Abe has really grown in his play-calling abilities. He specifically spoke about how Abe led the pitchers against Atsunori Inaba and Shinji Takahashi during Game 6.
He was disappointed when the Eagles hired Marty Brown. He even considered it a knock against him because he feels that when a manager to let go, it's usually because the team has a better replacement in mind. Obviously, he doesn't think very highly of Brown.
He thinks the Eagles' biggest need is at catcher. He added that the team really needs improvements throughout the line-up. He also said that a lot of things worked in favor of the Eagles this season -- injuries on the Lions and Buffaloes, the Hawks falling apart -- and that if the Lions and Hawks return to form next season, the Eagles likely won't finish in the top three unless major changes are made.
He apparently received an offer to manage a girl's baseball team.
