Hanshin Tigers

...Craig Brazell was interviewed by Sankei Sports and told them that he is still very much interested in returning to the Tigers in 2010.

"My feelings haven't changed at all.  The managers, the coaches, the players, the fans, the stadium -- all great.  I want to keep playing with them.  And I'm sure I can put up some good numbers with a full season."

(If enough people are interested in an English translation of the interview, I'll be more than happy to provide an English translation of it.  Show your interest by posting a comment.)

Nippon Ham Fighters

...Terrmel Sledge left for the United States on Monday.

Rakuten Eagles

...Marty Brown arrived in Japan on Monday and will meet with Eagles' chairman Hiroshi Mikitani on Tuesday before heading off to Sendai on the 11th to join his new team.

Said Brown, "I'm really excited to meet my new players.  There's some really good talent on the team.  My goal is to win."

...The Eagles announced on Monday that they hired Luis Lopez to be their next Ni-gun batting coach.  They also announced Misao Takaura as their new Ni-gun battery coach.

I’d love to read what Brazell had to say.

During my trip to Japan over the summer, my cousins took me to my first NPB game. Tigers v. Buffaloes @ Koshien. It was Brazell’s first game back in Japan & he crushed a homerun & had an RBI double in the victory.
