Yomiuri Giants sign Chih-Lung Huang to an Ikusei contract

The Yomiuri Giants announced on Friday that they signed 20-year-old pitcher Chih-Lung Huang (黄志龍) to an Ikusei contract. Huang is a right-handed pitcher from Taiwan that tops out at 152km/h. A number of MLB teams were also said to have been interested in him.
Huang was training with the Giants for about a week back near the end of October. At that time, his fastball was clocked in the 140-144km/h range, but the movement on his pitches caught the eye of the Ni-gun manager.
Along with his slider, Huang also throws a slider and a fork. He was selected to the National team and also made appearances in 4 games at the Baseball World Cup.
It seems the Giants are hoping they've found the next Chien-Ming Wang.
