The Yokohama Bay Stars are going after 28-year-old infielder Jose Castillo. The team has already submitted an offer and the two sides could come to an agreement within the next few days. An official announcement could be made at some point next week.
Castillo is a shortstop by trade, but can also play second, third, and right and would help the Bay Stars fill a number of roles. He spent most of his career in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, but split time with the San Francisco Giants and Houston Astros in 2008.
This past season, Castillo spent his time playing for the Uni Lions out of the CPBL.
