Chiba Lotte Marines

...Tsuyoshi Nishioka promised to donate 10,000yen towards a group that helps support leukemia patients for every hit he collected during the season.  He had 118 hits and will therefore be donating 1.18M yen to the group.

Chunichi Dragons

...Daisuke Yamai, Takuya Asao, and Tetsuya Tani are playing for the Estrella de Oriente at the Dominican Winter Leagues.  All three were told on the 21st (Japan time) that they are no longer needed by the team.  The three will likely return to Japan before the end of the month.

...Kenichi Nakata tossed a total 1,336 pitches during the 17-day long Fall camp.  He the final day of Fall camp on Saturday with a 210-pitch bullpen session.

Hanshin Tigers

...Akinobu Mayumi may be leaning towards batting Tomoaki Kanemoto 4th.

...Akihiro Yano will likely be looking at a fairly big drop in his salary.

Hiroshima Carp

...Carp Fall practice ended on Sunday.

...Takeshi Komatsu tossed 144 pitches on the 21st; 205 on the 17th; and 172 on the 16th.  Under Marty Brown, pitchers usually didn't thrown more than 70-80 pitches immediately after the season.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...About 42,000 fans showed up for Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday.

Rakuten Eagles

...Kohei Hasebe promised fans at an event on Sunday that if he didn't record double-digit wins next season, he'll shave his head at the end of the season.

Softbank Hawks

...28,684 fans showed up for Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday.

...Munenori Kawasaki is the new player rep.  Toshiya Sugiuchi, Takahiro Mahara, and Yuichi Honda are the new vice player reps.

...Koji Mise threw the most pitches in Group B during Fall camp: 1,620 pitchesHideaki Takahashi led Group A with 1,055 pitches.


...Kazuyoshi Tatsunami will begin his career as a baseball reporter / analyst for Chunichi Sports by visiting the various Spring camps next year.
