Chiba Lotte Marines

...The Marines found out that Tomohisa Nemoto suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

While playing catch on the 4th, a ball struck Nemoto in the right part of his head.  He was hospitalized after that and then discharged on the 8th.  He was re-admitted on the 14th and didn't attend Fan Appreciation Day on the 21st.

Nemoto is doing better now, but there's still some swelling.

Lotte also managed to re-sign Nemoto to a contract worth 13M yen (no change).

Hanshin Tigers

...The Tigers said that they have no plans of posting Kyuji Fujikawa to the MLB anytime soon.

"We're not going to let him go that easily -- he's Japan baseball's treasure," said GM Shoji Numasawa.

When asked about Kei Igawa being posted, Numasawa replied, "Igawa was a starter and we had a number of replacements lined up.  But Fujikawa is a closer."

...Takahiro Arai met with Shiga Prefectural Governor Yukiko Kada and Kusatsu City Mayor Wataru Hashikawa on Tuesday to inform them of the NPB event, "Baseball Christmas 2009 in Biwako Kusatsu."

Arai also stopped by Ritsumei University, where the event will be held.  While at Ritsumei University, Arai was offered a job as a special lecturer and was interviewed in front of about 300 university students.

...A jewelry store called Ginza Tanaka revealed a golden 2010 Tigers' calendar worth 30M yen to the media on Tuesday.  A total 6kg of gold was used to create the calendar.

The calendar will go on display on the 25th and will be available for purchase.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...While Yu Darvish will be going to Hawaii with the team in December from 12/16 to 12/21 (team trip for winning the PL title), he'll be doing his own thing: he plans on starting up his training routine.

...Sho Nakata speaks out on his base running snafu:

That was an exhibition game.  I just need to make sure it doesn't happen again.  I'm not a slow runner.  I'll try to make sure I don't make any mistake during a real game.

Orix Buffaloes

...The Buffaloes held their final meeting of the year on Tuesday night.

...In a span of 6 days, the Buffaloes received about 6,500 submissions (of which 3,800 apparently came on the first day) to their call for a nickname for Takahiro Okada.  Two that were mentioned by Sponichi: Goji Okada and Jumbo Okada.

Rakuten Eagles

...Masahiro Tanaka will be making a speech for first and second year students at Komazawa University on 12/11.

Softbank Hawks

...Sho Iwasaki will be joining Hiroki Kokubo and Kazumi Saito at Arizona to train during the off-season.

Yakult Swallows

...The Swallows also held their final meeting of the year on Tuesday night.

...Speaking at the final meeting of the year, Masanori Ishikawa said that the Swallows were the only team for him.

"Right now, I feel as if there's no other team I can play for other than the Swallows.  It's a club I picked and they even took me despite my bad left elbow.  This team helped bring me up," said Ishikawa.

Ishikawa is set to earn his FA option during the 2010 season.

Yomiuri Giants

...Michihiro Ogaswara will be shooting for his 2,000th hit next year.  He's currently sitting on 1,832.  Ogasawara recorded 159 hits this past season.

...Yoshiyuki Kamei is aiming for the triple three: .300 average, 30 home runs, 30 stolen bases.
