All-Japan College Baseball Team looking for a right-handed, middle of the order bat

by on Dec.05, 2009 @ 10:45 pm, under College

The All-Japan College Baseball Team held a training session at Hiratsuka Stadium on Saturday.

Said manager Tamotsu Enomoto, "I thought finding a hitter that can hit in the middle of the line-up was important, but it now seems as though we're missing more than that. ... We have players with speed from the left side, but what I want is a right-handed hitter that can hit in the middle of the line-up."

He also added, "We might swap out 1-2 pitchers.  There are a lot of good pitchers in Japan."

When asked about the upcoming 2010 World College Championships, Enomoto said, "I'm thinking about starting Saito in the first game. ... Pitchers that have hit a low can come back stronger.  I'm sure he'll be fine by then."

    I nominate Seiya Inoue! He’s a perfectly good righty-batting middle-of-the-order 2nd-year-going-to-be-3rd-year! But I don’t think anyone is going to listen to me…
