Chiba Lotte Marines

...Yoshihisa Naruse re-signed for 100M yen plus incentives (up 26.5M yen).

...The Marines are looking forward to the time when Tadahito Iguchi takes the next step and becomes manager of the team.

Chunichi Dragons

...It appears as though there's a good chance Nelson Payano won't be returning to the Chunichi Dragons next season.  Seems Payano wants to try to play in the Majors next season.  It also seems as though the Dragons and Payano haven't been able to agree on a salary: there's supposedly a 5M yen gap between the two sides.

Payano made 34 appearances in 2009 and had a 2.08 ERA over 30.1 innings (1.12 WHIP).

Nippon Ham Fighters

...Eiichi Koyano is thinking about incorporating hip-hop dance exercises into his training.

Yomiuri Giants

...Kentaro Nishimura will be getting a new uniform number next season (30 > 35).  Nishimura is hoping to join the rotation in 2010.

...After winning the Battery Award with a foreign pitcher two years in a row, Shinnosuke Abe apparently wanted to try and win the award with a Japanese player.

"To be honest, I really wanted [to win the award] with a Japanese player," said Abe.  "One of the longest original players on the team, Hisa, is leaving and that means there will be more pressure on me to perform.  I'll need to work hard."

...About 23,000 people showed up for Baseball Christmas 2009 in Biwako – Kusatsu.

...Yoshinobu Suzuki (current vice president of the Baseball Federation of Japan) was elected vice president of the Baseball Federation of Asia on Saturday.
