Hisanori Takahashi started working out again (after 2 weeks of rest) on Tuesday. During his hour and a half workout, Takahashi also played some catch, at a distance of about 30m, using an MLB regulation baseball. He also threw in a number of curves.
Said Takahashi, with regards to throwing an MLB regulation ball, "I tried to grasp the baseball at least once a day these last 2 weeks. I've also been working on finger training exercises over the last 3-4 years so I think that helped a little."
Takahashi is hoping that he'll know where he's playing by January. Until then, he plans on working out diligently.
Kei Igawa is currently working out in Ibaraki Prefecture. Igawa is apparently in the process of applying for the green card and has absolutely no desire of returning to Japan.
Igawa injured his left elbow this past season and was not satisfied with his 2009 season. He is hoping to get back to the Majors next season.
And no surprise, two teams other than the Yankees, the Red Sox and Rangers, see Hideki Matsui only as a DH.
