Draft News and Notes: Hawks hold a press conference to introduce their drafted players

Seibu Lions

...When Yusei Kikuchi was asked about his thoughts on Shota Ohmine, he simply replied:

I will only be focusing on baseball right now.  Baseball is my job.

Kikuchi also apparently liked what he saw during his tour of the Seibu Dome, the players' dorms, and the training grounds.  He also seemed happy to see a lot of green around him, saying that it reminded him of Iwate.

Softbank Hawks

...The Hawks held a welcoming party for their newly drafted players on Tuesday.  The Hawks also mentioned that they may take a hands-off approach with 1st round draft pick Kenta Imamiya.

"I'm against telling newly acquired players what to do, " said Sadaharu Oh.  "I want to see what he's made of before I do anything."

...The Hawks also held a press conference today in order to introduce their newly drafted players.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...During yesterday's press conference, Yoshitomo Tsutsugo said that he didn't like the nickname "Godzilla of the Bay / Beach" and will instead go with Tsutsugo.  He also said that he plans on becoming a power hitting switch-hitter.

Yesterday's press conference was a bit unique. Bay Stars' president Takao Kaji rented a bus and two large cabs to take their newly drafted players and members of the press (over 40 people) through various locations in Yokohama, including China town and Osanbashi.

...Tatsunori Hara wants Hisayoshi Chono to compete for the starting left fielder's job next season.
