...Norihiro Akahoshi donated his last set of wheelchairs on Wednesday.  He donated a total 31 wheelchairs, one for each base he stole during the season.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...Yu Darvish apparently wasn't too happy about Shinya Tsuruoka talking about him needing to work on his pick-offs.

"He spoke like he was above me and I was like, 'What?'  I think I'll be teaming up with Ohno next year.  I'll push the issue with Nashida more," said Darvish.

It's hard to say what's really going on here because I haven't heard the actual sound bite, but if Darvish is being serious, things could get a little rough for Tsuruoka.

Incidentally, Tsuruoka caught 22 of Darvish's 23 starts.

Seibu Lions

...Kazuhisa Ishii hinted that next season could be his last.

"[Next year might be] kind of like Michael Jackson's This is it," said Ishii.

Softbank Hawks

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka took off for Guam on Thursday so that he can train in a warmer country.  He'll be in Guam for 10 days.

...Tadashi Settsu was police chief for the day at Fukuoka Chuo Police Station on Thursday.

Yomiuri Giants

...The Giants took off on their celebratory trip to Australia on Thursday.  A total of 122 people are making the trip.  They will be returning on the 16th.

Tetsuya Utsumi will not be going so that he can be with his expecting wife.


...The Japan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum officially announced the additions of Shigeo Nagashima and Isao Harimoto to the Special Awards Committee on Thursday.

...Members of the All Japan Baseball Foundation met on Thursday for a general meeting to discuss the current pension system and how it will be terminated in 2012.

According to the report, they weren't entirely convinced that terminated the system had to be terminated in 2012 because of changes in the law.
