Bay Stars continue to deal, acquire Hayakawa in cash trade with Lotte

The Yokohama Bay Stars have apparently acquired 34-year-old outfielder Daisuke Hayakawa from the Chiba Lotte Marines for cash. An official announcement of the trade will likely be made on Monday.

The Bay Stars have been stressing the importance of players up the middle and they are hoping that Hayakawa will be able to revert back to his 2007 / 2008 form and establish himself as a presence on the base-paths and in center field.

It's official, the Bay Stars announced the trade earlier today.

The Bay Starts held a press conference on Wednesday to introduce Hayakawa. He was assigned the number 37.
