...Minoru Iwata met up with about 220 kids with type 1 diabetes and their families on Sunday at Osaka Medical College.

Hiroshima Carp

...Since November, Carp players have taken part in about 70 different fan events over a month and a half period.

Orix Buffaloes

...It seems there might be a chance that Tuffy Rhodes is currently considering retirement as an option.  Some of that apparently has to do with the Buffaloes sticking to their offer of 250M yen (down 100M yen).

Softbank Hawks

...Yasushi Kamiuchi was offered the same contract from last season and decided to put it on hold.

...The Japan Pro Baseball Players Association held an event at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University on Sunday called "World Catch Ball Classic in Ohita."  The following 12 players attended the event:

Born in Ohita
Ryota Wakiya, Yuya Ando, Ikuro Katsuragi, Jun Hirose, Seiichi Uchikawa, Teppei, Akira Ohtsuka, and Ryo Hidaka

Born outside of Ohita
Munenori Kawasaki, Ryuma Kidokoro, Yamato, Naoto Watanabe

3,600 fans, including exchange students from various continents around the world, showed up for the event to play catch.  The event itself lasted about 5 hours.
