Kei Igawa puts in a good word for Casey Fossum

by on Dec.14, 2009 @ 6:01 am, under MLB

Kei Igawa was at Koshien Stadium on Sunday to catch the Koshien Bowl.  It was actually his first time back at Koshien Stadium since December 9th of last year.

He also apparently gave his "seal of approval" on Casey Fossum.  Igawa also re-iterated that he has no desire of returning to Japan in the middle of his contract.

Igawa has been back in Japan since 12/2 and has been working out in Ibaraki.

The Tigers have also mentioned that if and when the Fossum deal is officially announced, it will likely be their last move of the off-season (assuming there are no surprise injuries or retirements).

Big splashes by the Tigers so far:

Kenji Johjima
Matt Murton
Randy Messenger

Ryota Igarashi packed his bags and left for Arizona on Sunday.  He is hoping that he'll have a chance to work out Daisuke Matsuzaka at some point during the off-season.
