Around the NPB Horn: Akahoshi would like to coach in the future

Hanshin Tigers

...Akihiro Yano is working on making sure that he can join up with the team come 2/1/2010.  Yano fractured his right ankle during a game against the Swallows on 10/3 and is currently at about 50%.

...Norihiro Akahoshi has aspirations of returning to baseball as a coach at some point in the future.  He also jokingly said that he should have more than enough time now to find someone to marry.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...Sho Nakata may make his 2010 outfield debut during a practice game against the Hanshin Tigers on 2/13 or 2/14.

Softbank Hawks

...Now that Munenori Kawasaki is the Hawks new player rep, he'll likely be looked on to help lead the team.  But since he isn't the talkative type, he plans to lead by example.

...Bum-Ho Lee's debut with the Hawks will likely be during an exhibition game on 2/26 against the Hiroshima Carp at Yahoo Dome.

...Nagisa Arakaki donates 10,000 yen for each strike out he records over the course of the season.  He was limited to 4 games this season and managed to strike out only 15 batters.  He plans on bouncing back next season so that he'll be able to donate more money next year.

...Toshiya Sugiuchi said that he will start supporting various bone marrow donation programs and leukemia support organizations.  Sugiuchi currently works with Tadahito Iguchi to donate wheel chairs and AED devices to various organizations each year.

Yomiuri Giants

...Tatsunori Hara will receive a commemorative plate from the IBAF for being selected as Manager of the Year.  He will receive the plate sometime in January.

...Ryuichi Kajimae has moved out of the Giants' player dorm and has started living on his own.
