So Bart Hubbuch twitters that the Mets offered Ryota Igarashi a 2-year deal.
Sponichi is carrying a story that the Boston Red Sox also offered Igarashi a 2-year deal worth US$2-3M. The article also adds that the Phillies are in the hunt as well, but that in the end, the Red Sox may be in the lead.

It'll be interesting to see where Igarashi lands. If he goes to some place like Boston, he'll have a nice group of Japanese players to rely on for some support. But if he goes to a team like the Mets, he'll have a chance to start his own thing.
Something else to keep in mind... Igarashi mentioned that he received an offer from a team he wanted to play for. Which team that is, I have no idea, but that may be the team that ultimately ends up signing him. My guess is that most teams are pricing him in the same range, which means it may ultimately come down to which team he wants to play for the most, or which team contacted him with a solid offer first.
