A Q&A posted by Sanspo:
Your feelings right now?
I'm really happy. I feel like a rookie 2 years in a row. I started from 1 a year ago and it'll sort of be like starting from 1 next year. Kind of like an "old rookie."
What led you to give up on the Majors?
I may have gotten an offer had I waited a bit more, but negotiations took a long time last year. I just wanted to get things doing within the year.
What did you gain by playing in the Majors?
The hunger [to play]. I made it up from the tough minors. I had to be really clever on all fronts in order to be used.
At 40 [you'll] be the oldest [on the roster]...
It'll be nice if I can provide people courage by pitching. I'd also like to get the younger players to want to show me up.
Any stat-specific goals?
If I'm starting, double digit wins. If it's in relief, anything to help the team win. I just want to contribute to the team's success.
You'll be playing in a new stadium...
It's a great ballpark and lots of fans are coming out to watch. I want to hurry up and get on that mound.
