Chiba Lotte Marines

...Yoshihisa Naruse told fans at a Christmas event on Wednesday about a project he started 2 years ago in order to bring in new fans.  Over the last two seasons, Naruse has been providing people who have never watched a baseball game a chance to catch a game at Chiba Marine Stadium (the Naruse Seats).  He will continue that tradition next season: the team and Naruse will hand out 72 pairs of tickets (one pair of tickets for every home game) to 72 pairs of "new" fans.

Hanshin Tigers

...Minoru Iwata, speaking at a Christmas event on Wednesday, said that he knows he needs to attack the lower portion of the zone in order to succeed because he doesn't have a fastball like Kyuji Fujikawa's.

...As the team rep, Takashi Toritani doesn't want to sign on the dotted line until he's had a chance to tell the team everything that's on his mind.  Toritani also said that money was not the reason for why he still hasn't signed.

...Kyuji Fujikawa worked out for about 3 hours at his old high school, Kochi Shogyo High School.

...Kazuya Tsutsui appeared in 45 games this past season.  He's hoping to bump that up to about 70 games in 2010.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...There was a dinner show featuring Hichori Morimoto at a hotel in Sapporo on Wednesday.  During the show, Morimoto threw up images he took during his team celebration team trip and followed that up by posing for pictures.  When fans asked him what his favorite karaoke song was, he said he enjoyed going with Kobukuro's Sakura.  240 people were at the event.

Softbank Hawks

...Nobuhiko Matsunaka made an appearance at Matsunaka Nobuhiko Sports Museum in Yatsuhiro City, Kumamoto on Wednesday and told about 250 people that showed up for the event that he wanted to keep playing until he was at least 40 years old (or about another 3 years).

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Shinji Niinuma, Yoshiyuki Kuwahara, and Takehiro Ishikawa showed up for a UNICEF event at Shinjuku Station's west entrance on Wednesday.

Yakult Swallows

...Yuhei Takai took part in a baseball clinic held by the Toshima Estrellas (a junior high baseball team created and owned by Masato Yoshii) on Wednesday.

...Shingo Kawabata would like to train with his younger sister, Yuki Kawabata, when he goes back home for New Years.  Yuki was recently drafted by the Kyoto Asto Dreams out of the newly formed, Girls Professional Baseball League (independent).

...Yoshinori Sato will be heading out to Arizona in January for training.  He's hoping he'll be able to pick Daisuke Matsuzaka's brain while he's over there.

Yomiuri Giants

...The Giants will be using slightly modified away uniforms next season.  The base color of the new uniforms will be similar to the old-time Giants' uniforms: aluminum gray.  The uniforms will be made out of mesh material from Adidas; and the "Giants" lettering on the front will remain unchanged.

The team will unveil the new uniforms during Spring camp.
