Koji Uehara was a guest on Nippon Broadcasting's 35th Annual Radio Charity Musicthon and said that he'd love to be teammates with Hisanori Takahashi.  He also said that Takahashi would be a good option because he doesn't get injured as often as he does.  Uehara also feels that having Takahashi around would help him relax.

So Taguchi was selected to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Cardinals All-Decade Team as bench player of the decade.  Taguchi received the most number of votes in an online poll.
