Eiichi Koyano, Takayuki Takaguchi, and Yutaka Ohtsuka joined him for practice at Soka University.

...Ni-gun trainer Daisuke Sekiba is being promoted to Ichi-gun chief trainer.  Sekiba has apparently played a fairly major role in helping Masahiro Tanaka and Hisahi Iwakuma over the last couple of seasons.  He's also helped out other pitchers like Satoshi Nagai and Shinichiro Koyama with their training.

...Masahiro Tanaka will be appearing in another curry commercial for House Foods.  Filming for the commercial is set to begin some time this month.

Seibu Lions

...Takeya Nakamura was a station master for the day for Tama Monorail on Sunday.  The monorail is currently celebrating it's 10th anniversary.

...Shohei Tateyama headed out for Hawaii on Sunday.  He plans on working on his lower body during the off-season.

...Ryohei Kawamoto plans on eating more vegetables during the off-season in order to lose about 5-kg by Spring camp (he's currently 89-kg and wants to drop down to 84-kg).

Yokohama Bay Stars

...Seiichi Uchikawa wants to spend more time helping the younger players out a bit more.

Yomiuri Giants

...Taishi Ohta has switched over to an Ogasawara model glove.  The new glove is apparently bigger than what he was using last season.

Ohta also picked up some weight in December with a steady weight-training program: 85-kg to over 90-kg.

Both the new glove and the weight gain tie into Ohta's two goals for the upcoming season: improving his fielding and maintaining his weight over the season.
