The Yomiuri Giants are in pursuit of 31-year-old infielder, Edgar Gonzalez.  If his exam comes back clean, the club plans on offering him a contract.

Gonzalez was initially drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2000 and then made his way through 5 other organizations since then.  Of the 6 teams he played for, the Padres were the only team that used him at the MLB level.

The Giants are hoping to fill their hole at second base with Gonzalez.
