Chiba Lotte Marines

...All four rookies of the 2009 draft class worked out on Saturday.  The Marines' rookie mini camp begins on the 10th.

Chunichi Dragons

...Ikusei 1st round draft pick Kento Yachi was the first to move into the Dragons' player dorms on Saturday.

Hiroshima Carp

...Takeru Imamura moved into the Carp player dorms on Saturday.  He will be living in Kenta Maeda's old room.

Rookie mini camp begins on the 10th.

Seibu Lions

...Yusei Kikuchi showed up at practice decked out in pink training wear.

As mentioned yesterday, Kikuchi doesn't own any clothes other than training wear and his old school uniforms.  That isn't necessarily a bad thing, except the Lions have a rule that don't permit players to walk around in public wearing training wear.

And it doesn't seem like he's very good at soccer either.

...Kenta Matsushita is hoping to hold a bullpen session sometime this month.  He'll likely start by slowly expanding the distance he plays catch at until he's ready for a bullpen session.

Softbank Hawks

...The Hawks' rookie mini camp began today.  Their 2-and-a half-hour training session included playing catch, taking fielding practice, and running.

Prior to practice, Sadaharu Oh dropped by to give the rookies a speech on doping.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...The Bay Stars' rookie mini camp began today.  Workouts lasted about 6 hours on the first day.

Yoshitomo Tsutsugo took some soft toss BP.  There was also a 4km run through hills that left him in last place.
