Draft News and Notes: More players move into dorms, mini camp news

Chiba Lotte Marines

...The four rookies drafted in 2009, along with Ikusei player Yen-Feng Lin, are taking part in the Marines' rookie mini camp that started today.

1st round draft pick Takashi Ogino suffered an injury his right big toe and is currently working out apart from the other four.

Chunichi Dragons

...Six more rookies moved into the player dorms on Sunday.

1st round draft pick Toshiya Okada checked in with 5 gloves: one for each of the four Koshien tournaments he appeared in and one that he'll be using now that he's turned pro.

Dragons' rookie mini camp begins on Monday.

Hiroshima Carp

...All eight of the Carp rookies moved into the player dorms on Saturday.

5th round draft pick Kota Ito moved in with Hanshin Tiger Tomoaki Kanemoto's book, Kakugo no Susume (覚悟のすすめ).  Ito has apparently read the book about 20 times and considers Kanemoto his role model.

...The first day of rookie mini camp lasted about 5 hours and included running, trunk strengthening exercises, and weight lifting.

Orix Buffaloes

...All five of the players the Buffaloes drafted last year moved into the player dorms on Sunday.

Shuichi Furukawa drove 7 hours with his parents to the player dorms.

Seibu Lions

...Yusei Kikuchi showed up to the second day of rookie mini camp in red training wear.

Training on Sunday included running back and fourth between the foul poles for a total 5.8km.

Yakult Swallows

...Swallows' rookie mini camp began todayShigeru Takada was on hand to watch.

Yokohama Bay Stars

...For the second day of mini camp, Yoshitomo Tsutsugo took some fielding practice and did some more running.  After  practice, he hit the trainer's room with cramps in both his legs.  He apparently wasn't drinking enough water during practice.

2010 Draft

...Hirokazu Sawamura - scouts from 10 NBP teams were on hand to watch Sawamura practice on Sunday.
