Matsui Hideki Baseball Museum celebrates a milestone

by on Jan.11, 2010 @ 1:18 pm, under MLB

According to Sponichi, tickets to a Mariners vs Angels spring training game on 3/23 at Peoria Stadium are currently selling like hotcakes.  They apparently sold 1,868 tickets on one day.

Tickets to their first match-up of the Spring on 3/21 at Tempe Diablo Stadium apparently go on sale on the 16th.

The Matsui Hideki Baseball Museum celebrated it's 550,000th visitor with a fan event on Sunday.

The museum received about 25,000 submissions from fans that wanted to attend; only 30 were selected.

Speaking at the event, Matsui told fans that unlike other years, he didn't gain much weight during the 2010 New Year's holiday.  He managed to keep his weight at about 102kg.

Sunday was "110 Day."  110 is, of course, the number you dial in Japan if there's an emergency, kind of like dialing 911 in the States.

In any case, Akinori Iwamura was a dispatcher for a day in Ehime prefecture on 110 Day.
