Nippon Ham Fighters

...John Clayton Unten is thinking about how to sign his name.  His name is apparently the longest in the player registry, excluding foreign players.

Unten is considering UJC as a possibility for his signature.

...Masataka Nashida was present at the first day of rookie mini camp today.

The 3-hour training session included running, fielding practice, and batting practice.  Because of the rain, parts of the session were held indoors.

Orix Buffaloes

...Akinobu Okada was present at the first day of rookie mini camp today.

Workouts were light and included running and playing catch.

Seibu Lions

...Yusei Kikuchi threw about 50 pitches in a bullpen session that had no catcher.  He'll likely throw a "real" bullpen session with a catcher sometime during the third block of mini camp that begins on the 19th.

Softbank Hawks

...Koji Toyofuku stayed back after practice on Monday to take extra batting practice.

After mini camp practice ended, Toyofuku took fielding practice with the others.  After that, he went back to his dorm room before returning to the practice rooms for batting pratice.

...Kenta Imamiya took some fielding practice at short after mini camp practice on Monday.  He also stayed after practice in order take extra batting practice.

...Hiroyuki Kawahara will be returning to his high school for 3 days, beginning on the 12th, to attend some classes.

...Mini camp practice on Monday included 5 runs up 108 steps at nearby shrine and 3 runs up hills.
