Draft News and Notes: Ryoji Nakata has a rough time running

Chunichi Dragons

...Rookie mini camp began today at Nagoya Stadium and lasted about 4 hours.

Ryoji Nakata had a rough time running, later telling reporters that he just doesn't have much stamina.

Hanshin Tigers

...All eight of the Tigers' 2009 draft prospects moved into the player dorms on Monday.

Tigers' rookie mini camp begins on the 13th.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...5th round draft pick Hirotoshi Masui moved into the player dorms in Kamagaya on Monday after driving all the way up from Shizuoka.  Masui moved in with 2 boxes full of clothes -- Masui apparently likes Diesel and Dolce & Gabbana.

Fighters' rookie mini camp begins on the 12.

Rakuten Eagles

...Kenji Tomura moved into the player dorms on Monday.  He's looking forward to living in his own room after having to live his college life in a double.

Eagles' rookie mini camp begins on the 13th.

Seibu Lions

...Yusei Kikuchi ran 5 sprints up a hill (about 50m) on the third day of mini camp.  He also played some catch while being video-taped -- they will dissect his form to see if there are any problems.

Sit-ups were also on the menu on Monday -- 100 in a row.

Softbank Hawks

...The second day of rookie mini camp lasted about three and a half hours.

Kenta Imamiya stayed back for the second straight day to spend some more time in the batting cages.  Seems he's struggling with the move from metal to wood.

...Nagisa Arakaki worked out with the rookies on Sunday.

Yomiuri Giants

...Hisayoshi Chono hit the batting cages for the first time as a Giant.  He took about 30 swings.
