Both Ichi-gun and Ni-gun camps will begin on 2/1.
Ichi-gun camp will last until the 26th while Ni-gun camp will only run until the 23rd.
Both Ichi-gun and Ni-gun camps will have days off on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 19th, and 24th.
There will be intra-squad games on the 8th, 9th, and 20th.
...The Buffaloes announced that they will be adding about 150 field seats (in total) in the first and third base foul areas at Kyocera Dome. They will also be replacing the fences along the walls to netting, making the dome one of the first parks in Japan to make the upgrade.
...Teppei and Naoto Watanabe will continue training in Chiba until the 21st. They will then head to Sendai on the 22nd and finish out their practice there until the start of Spring camp.
...Takumi Kuriyama worked out at Seibu 2 Stadium today, beginning a little before 9am. He usually takes BP in the batting cages at this time of year, but managed to find a BP pitcher this off-season.
...Tadashi Settsu continues to work on strengthening his lower body. He's hoping to surpass Kyuji Fujikawa as a closer.
Settsu is currently working out with Takahiro Mahara and Yasushi Kamiuchi in Kumamoto.
...Yuichi Honda left for Saipan today to continue his training.
...The Swallows re-signed Jamie D'Antona to a 2-year contract on Tuesday. The second year is a club option. His salary for the 2010 season is 73M yen plus incentives.
...The Giants re-signed Dicky Gonzalez to a 2-year contract on Tuesday. His salary for the 2010 season will be 110M yen (up 80M yen) plus incentives.
...Yasunari Takagi worked out for his second consecutive day on Wednesday. He did some running at Giants Stadium in Kawasaki and then recorded a bullpen session in order to make sure his mechanics were alright.
...Kentaro Nishimura threw about 40 pitches in a bullpen (including off-speed pitches) session. While Nishimura had tossed a number of bullpen sessions while he was training in Arizona earlier on, this was the first time he threw one since returning to Japan on the 10th.
...Tatsunori Hara is calling for an international standard for baseballs, specifically referring to the balls used during the WBC and ball used during IBAF tournaments.
...Shinnosuke Abe might like the idea of a Global World Series, but is concerned that it will eat into player's rest schedules.
