Seibu Lions

...Yusei Kikuchi finished second (1m 29s 16ms) in the cycling race conducted today during rookie mini camp.  In watching highlights on TV, I noticed him get off his bike once and crumple down to the ground from pedaling so hard (he supposedly couldn't stand for about 5 minutes).

Hidekazu Hoshi holds the record for Lions' rookies: 1m 26s 25ms.

In the afternoon, Kikuchi played catch at a distance of about 60m.

Softbank Hawks

...Kenta Imamiya stayed after practice on Thursday and did some soccer and basketball drills.  He also tried some underhanded throws, a la softball.

Yomiuri Giants

...The Giants usually split their players into two groups during the first half of Spring camp: Group A for the veterans and top producers and Group B for the younger players.

Seems Hisayoshi Chono will be working out with Group A.

2010 Draft

...Yomiuri Giants' chief scout Tetsuji Yamashita told reporters on Thursday that the team will likely go after a college-level pitcher for their top draft spot during the 2010 draft.

...Chiba Lotte Marines' club president Ryuzo Setoyama told reporters on Thursday that the team will take Yuki Saito with their first pick.  The Marines currently have a list of about 200 prospects that they will be looking through.
