Hanshin Tigers

...Ikusei 1st round draft pick Shuhei Takada had a chance to show off his stamina on Friday.  He came in first place during a 20-minute running session.

Nippon Ham Fighters

...Friday marked the end of the first block of rookie mini camp.  Training was light and consisted of playing catch and taking fielding practice in the morning and weight training in the afternoon.

The rookies will have the day off tomorrow.  But they won't be able to rest much as they will all be attending an event being thrown by the parent company.

...The Fighters plan on recording as much video footage of Yusei Kikuchi as possible during Spring camp for their records.

Orix Buffaloes

...4th round draft pick Yuji Maeda injured his left flank.  While he was able to do some running and take some fielding practice, he stayed away from playing catch.  The rookies have the day off Saturday and the 2nd block of rookie mini camp begins on the 16th.

Rakuten Eagles

...Kenji Tomura is hoping to learn a thing or two by watching Hisayoshi Iwakuma play.

During rookie mini camp on Friday, Tomura ran dashes and played catch.  He also had a chance to work on his fielding, something he isn't very good at and hopes to get some advice about from Iwakuma.

Seibu Lions

...Yusei Kikuchi held a 19-pitch bullpen session on Friday with the catch standing up.  Seems his session went well.

...Kikuchi had a chance to meet Ryo Ishikawa (pro golfer) on Friday during TV Asahi's Big Sports Award ceremonies.  They are both the same age.

...5th round draft pick Kenta Matsushita also held a bullpen session on Friday; he threw 17 pitches.

Softbank Hawks

...Hiroyuki Kawahara was back at rookie mini camp on Friday.  He was away from the 12th to the 14th in order to take some classes for school.

2010 Draft

...The Chiba Lotte Marines, Yakult Swallows, Nippon Ham Fighters, Yomiuri Giants, Hanshin Tigers, Rakuten Eagles, Softbank Hawks, Seibu Lions, and Orix Buffaloes have sent out scouts to watch Yuki Saito this year.  Over 10 have apparently mentioned Saito as a possible number 1 pick.

Hirokazu Sawamura has also drawn a lot of attention so far -- scouts from 10 teams were on hand to watch him practice on the 10th.
