Orix Buffaloes sign So Taguchi to a 1-year deal

The latest update from Sponichi on So Taguchi has him signing with the Orix Buffaloes sometime in the very near future.
BTW: I'll be updating this post with whatever new coverage comes though.

According to Nikkan Sports, it seems the two sides have basically come to an agreement and that an announcement could be made as early as the 20th.
Early negotiations had supposedly hit a road block because Taguchi wanted a high base salary instead of a wider range of incentives.

According to Taguchi's agent, the two sides are still trying to work out the final details and will likely require a little more time before an agreement can be reached. As such, it doesn't look like any announcements will be made this week, unless there's a big breakthrough.

Sanspo is reporting that a deal could be announced sometime on or after the 25th.

The Buffaloes announced that they have signed Taguchi to a contract and will be holding a press conference later today. The only thing known at this point is that his uniform number will be 33.
The team is hoping that Taguchi will be able to help guide their youngsters to the next level.
