...Kentaro Sekimoto opened his training up to reporters on Tuesday. He told reporters that he's gunning for double-digit home runs in 2010. And to that end, he's aiming to take 10,000 swings of the bat over the span of his personal workouts. On Tuesday, he took about 400 swings of the bat during soft toss BP and BP in the cages.

It seems his training at former WBA Super Flyweight Champion Katsuya Onizuka's gym is already paying off (it lasted for about a week and ended on the 16th) -- he told reporters after practice that he didn't feel as winded after practice as he used to.
...Munenori Kawasaki worked out with Ichiro at Skymark Stadium for about 2 hours on Tuesday. Seems they kept things fun and light: they competed on the number of homers they could hit during BP and they played catch at distances of about 100 meters.
...The Hawks held a 3-hour staff meeting on Tuesday to discuss the training menus for Spring camp. They also went over how they plan on splitting the team into two groups (A and B, or effectively Ichi-gun and Ni-gun).
They also decided that Kazumi Saito would begin the season with group B at Spring camp. The final grouping will be decided and announced later this month.
