...The Tigers announced today that the team will not be holding a retirement game for Norihiro Akahoshi.  Both the team and Akahoshi felt that it would be best to forgo a retirement game in favor of allowing the team to focus on the current season.

...Buffaloes' joint mini camp will begin on the 27th and run through the to 31st in Miyakojima, Okinawa.  31 players, including Chihiro Kaneko and Tomotaka Sakaguchi, will attend.

...Mamoru Kishida tossed a bullpen session today.  No word on how many pitches he threw, but he apparently did mix in some off-speed pitches that had good movement.  Kishida is trying to build up his stamina so that he can throw 200 innings this year.

Kishida is currently working out with players like So Taguchi and Sakaguchi

...The Buffaloes announced today that former SK Wyverns' batting coach Sun Rae Kim (金聲来) will be joining the team as a coach in training this year.

...There will be a parade in Miyazaki, a day before Spring camp begins, to celebrate the Giants' 2009 championship victory.  31 players, including Michihiro Ogasawara, Alex Ramirez, and Tatsunori Hara, will take part in the parade.

The festivities will begin at 12:00pm in front of the Miyazaki Prefectural Government Offices.  The parade itself will start at 1pm.

...The NPB and the Umpire's Association met today to continue their discussions on the current pension system for umpires.  One of the topics on the table, set forth by the Umpire's Association, was to clarify the rules behind days off and work hours.  The NPB apparently was not prepared to discuss this particular issue and will spend the next month or so, until their next meeting March, to come up with a proposal.
