...Masahiro Araki worked out at Nagoya Stadium on Monday and even took some grounders from Chicago Cub Kosuke Fukudome in the indoor training facilities. Araki also spent about 20 minutes in the batting cages as well.
Joint mini camp at Nagoya Stadium ended today. Most of the player will now head to Okinawa for final preparations before Spring camp.
...Kenichi Nakata tossed a 45-pitch bullpen session on Monday. It was his second bullpen session since he started working out at the joint mini camp on the 23rd.
...Kenta Kurihara returned from his training in Arizona on Sunday and was already at Mazda Stadium on Monday working out. He told reporters that he wanted to get his body moving in order to get over the jet lag and kept his workouts light.
Kurihara apparently lost about 2kg during his training in Arizona.
...A total 26 players took part in the first day of mini camp in Okinawa on Monday. After the entire team warmed-up together, they separated into groups of pitchers and fielder for workouts. Due to the rain, fielders spent most of their time in the batting cages.

...The Fighters announced on Monday that Ni-gun pitching coach Takeshi Shimazaki will become the team's new Ichi-gun pitching coach. The open Ni-gun pitching coach position will be filled by BP pitcher Hiroyuki Sekine.
...So Taguchi took part in his first official team function on Monday -- the taking of the team picture.
...Nagisa Arakaki held his first bullpen session of the year on Monday and tossed 23 pitches.
It was also the first time Arakaki pitched in about a month. He told reporters he felt good and the session went according to plan.
...Michihiro Ogaswara worked out in Miyazaki City on Monday. He told reporters that he was feeling great and that he's more or less ready for Spring camp.
