Hisanori Takahashi is flying out to Australia before heading out to Los Angeles. Why? A friend of his versed in hoigaku (方位学) advised him the best way to arrive in the US is from the south-east. Masumi Kuwata apparently did the same thing when he signed a contract with the Pirates in 2007.
Takahashi will ultimately arrive in Los Angeles on 2/2.
Hoigaku is the study of directions and how they relate to one's luck, kind of like Feng Shui.
On Saturday, Takahashi held his second bullpen session in as many days and tossed 39 pitches (including 3 curves).
It seems Ryota Igarashi found a location he'd like to live in. No specific information other than that it's in the suburbs and not in the middle of the city. Makes sense since he also needs to think about his two kids.
