...The first day of Spring camp started with 2-hours worth of various warm-up exercises, including running.
...Masahiro Tanaka apparently hurt his right ankle during the off-season and didn't throw a bullpen session on Monday. In place of the bullpen session, he played some catch instead. Tanaka actually wanted to throw, but the team advised against it.
Tanaka likely won't be able to throw during the first session of Spring camp.

...Hisashi Iwakuma told reporters that he doesn't plan to hold any crazy bullpen sessions this Spring (like throwing 180-200 pitches in a day. Instead, he'll keep them shorter and more focused.
...Marty Brown was presented with his very own Segway to use during Spring camp on Sunday. The Segway is apparently the newest in the Segway lineup and costs about 1.1M yen.
...In place of early morning walk, Brown wants everyone to make sure they eat their breakfasts. He said professional athletes should never train without eating enough.
....The Eagles support group in Kumejima wanted to throw a base-throwing contests during one of the Eagles' off-days. Brown apparently turned the idea down and said that he wanted to focus on baseball, and nothing else.
...At a team meeting, Brown told his players that he joined the team not to change players, but to change the team into a powerhouse.
...The team was given some Kumejima's Kumesen Brown liquor during their welcoming party on Sunday. Brown happily said that he would take offers to appear in commercials for the sake that has the same name he does.
