Imaoka officially signed on the dotted line on Friday.  His contract is indeed worth 15M yen.  There are no incentive clauses or signing bonuses.

The Marines signed Imaoka to a 1-year deal likely worth around 15M yen.  That a fairly big drop-off from the 180M yen Imaoka made last season with the Tigers.

Imaoka also selected the number 2.  Seems the club gave him two choices, 44 and 2.

IMHO, gutsy move by Imaoka to pick the number 2.  The only way it works for him is if he has a really good season.

The Marines announced on Wednesday that they signed Makoto Imaoka to a contract after he passed tryouts.

He has been assigned Bobby Valentine's old number (2).
