...Brian Falkenborg threw about 20 pitches in a bullpen session, with the catcher squatting, on Wednesday. Falkenborg had only thrown one bullpen session while he was back in the States.
...Hiroki Kokubo took 55 swings during BP on Wednesday and hit 8 over the fence.
...Koji Akiyama took some soft toss BP (ロングティー) on Wednesday and managed to hit one over the fence.

...The Hawks took team pictures prior to practice on Wednesday. Early workouts also started on Wednesday and began a little past 8am with the following 8 players: Hiroaki Takaya, Kenta Nakanishi, Yusuke Kosai, Katsuki Yamazaki, Shuhei Fukuda, Hayato Doue, Tomoaki Egawa, and Akira Nakamura.
...Tsuyoshi Wada will be the opening day starter at home (3/26).
...Tadashi Settsu held his second bullpen session in as many days on Tuesday and tossed 88 pitches. He's thinking about pitching on Wednesday as well. Last season, Settsu tossed 1,443 pitches during Spring camp (good for second on the team).
...Nobuhiko Matsunaka swung the bat for the first time in about 3 months on Tuesday. He took about 30 soft toss pitches and took careful swings with his bat. Matsunaka still isn't able to run any sprints.
...Koji Akiyama sat down and spoke to Bum-Ho Lee on Tuesday about playing more than just third base. It probably didn't help Lee's cause any when he fumbled around a bit out at third during fielding practice.
Lee also took 56 swings during BP and hit 1 out. After general practice was over, he stayed after for some extra fielding practice.
...After taking some BP against a live arm on Tuesday, Hiroki Kokubo also took some soft toss BP (ロングティー).
...A coach suggested that Kenta Imamiya should take 1,000 practice cuts a day.
...The pitchers will begin throwing BP at the start of the second session (2/6) of Spring camp. Pitchers were initially supposed to start throwing BP during the first session, but the team restructured the schedule due to the cold weather.
