...Masanori Ishikawa held a bullpen session on Wednesday and tossed 151 pitches.  He received some advice from pitching coach Daisuke Araki during his session and wanted to keep throwing, but stopped when he started losing control of his pitches.

...The city of Urasoe and a support group for the Swallows presented the team with meat, shrimp, watermelon, goya (ゴーヤ) juice, Orion beer, and various other goodies on Wednesday.  Shigeru Takaga was at the presentation ceremony and thanked the senders for their support.

...Atsuya Furuta will be at the Swallows Spring camp on the 6th in order to record a segment for a TV program.  Yoshinori Sato is hoping Furuta will have time to catch him while he's there.  Incidentally Yoshinori is apparently part of the segment Furuta will be recording.

Yoshinori is also working on a new fork ball that involves loosening up his grip on the ball.  Sponichi also notes that when Yoshinori tossed his 50th pitch, he decided he would end his bullpen session after getting 5 strikes in a row.  He kept messing up and finally got 5 strikes in a row on his 20th try.  It should also be noted that Yoshinori is trying to throw at least 2,000 pitches during Spring camp.

...Tatsuyoshi Masubuchi held his second bullpen session in as many days on Tuesday and tossed 64 pitches.

...Yuhei Takai received some fielding tips (footwork, how throw the ball) from outfield coach Tetsuya Iida during extra indoor fielding practice on Tuesday.  Takai plans on working with as many coaches (hitting, fielding, running) as possible during Spring camp.

...Atsushi Fujimoto took some grounders at short during situational fielding practice on Tuesday.
