...None of the pitchers were scheduled to pitch in the bullpen on Thursday, but Takahashi Ogasawara changed his mind and tossed 56 pitches.  Ogasawara is going to be a BP pitcher on Friday and wanted to get in some throwing beforehand.

...More rain on the Thursday meant practice took place indoors again.  That means no fielding practice at the stadium.

...On Wednesday, after strengthening exercises in morning, Ryoji Nakata continued his first day of Spring camp with some BP in the afternoon.   And while taking batting practice in the cages, he drew the eye of Ni-gun manager Masahiro Kawai.  For a big guy, Nakata has a fairly short and compact swing, something Kawai hasn't seen before.

Said Kawai, "He's got a sharp swing.  And that bat head comes out fast.  Quick hands.  It's definitely not something I'd be able to do.  I've been in baseball for a long time, but I've never seen a hitter like him until now.  I'm excited."
