...Shinji Takahashi put on his gear to be a bullpen catcher on Thursday.  He did the same on Wednesday but by the time he arrived at the bullpen, no one was there.  Seems he was a little sad that no one treats him as a catcher anymore.

...Toshiyuki Yanuki threw 34 pitches during BP on Thursday and faced Kazuya Murata and Takahiro Imanami.  He gave up 5 could-be hits.

...Because of the rain on Thursday, Masao Kida held a bullpen session at the Ichi-gun training facilities and threw 160 pitches.  The coaches were surprised that the 42-year-old could throw so much.  But they were also a little upset that he threw too much.

...Hichori Morimoto felt some tightness in his back on Wednesday and worked on a separate training menu.  No word on whether or not he did the same on Thursday.

...Masataka Nashida spent about 10 minutes giving Sho Nakata advice on hitting (like how to hit outside pitches to the opposite field) during soft toss BP on Wednesday.  Nakata then stayed back after general practice to put Nashida's advice to work with an extra 30 minutes of BP.

...Keisaku Itokazu is trying to secure a spot in the starting rotation and held his second bullpen session of Spring camp on Wednesday; he threw 94 pitches, 45 of which were a mix of curves and shutos.  Itokazu's wife and daughter also swung by and made a surprise visit.

...Of the 71 pitches Yu Darvish threw during his bullpen session on Wednesday, 23 were not fastballs -- curve, change, two-seamer, and slider.  He also threw with one day of rest (he threw 45 pitches on Monday and didn't throw a bullpen on Tuesday).

Darvish is still on course to be the opening day pitcher (3/20).
