Softbank Hawks: Arakaki expected back in time for Inter-league play in May

...Tsuyoshi Wada decided not to pitch on Saturday because of how cold it was.

...Nagisa Arakaki held a bullpen session on Saturday and threw over 100 pitches.  He told reporters that in his current state, he'd only be able to throw at about 60-70% capacity.

...Nobuhiro Matsuda took some BP on Saturday and did a good job of going the other way on outside pitches and pulling insides pitches.  He'll be working at first base for the first time this Spring camp on Sunday during fielding practice.

...The Hawks do not want to rush Nagisa Arakaki and now expect him to be ready for the start of Inter-league play in May (at the latest).  Arakaki had thrown two bullpen sessions so far during Spring camp at about 50-60% capacity.

The club feels they may have rushed Arakaki back last season after he had surgery on his right elbow on 10/29/2008 and don't want to make the same mistake again this time around.

...Kenta Imamiya told reporters that he could tell he still has a long way to go before he is physically ready for the pros.  He said that he'd like to continue working on strengthening his body so that he'll be able to prove himself at Ni-gun and make it to the Ichi-gun roster.

...Tadashi Settsu was hired to be a spokesperson for Biozyme health supplements that they contain Euglena.

...Hiroaki Takaya, Yusuke Kosai, Soichiro Tateoka, and Tu-Hsuan Lee spent their day off on Friday taking BP at the indoor training facilities.

...The five rookies held a baseball clinic at an elementary school during their day off on Friday.
