...Kazuhisa Ishii has quietly put together a string of 7 consecutive bullpens.  Ishii threw about 30 pitches during his latest bullpen session on Monday.

...Taketoshi Goto wore special sunglasses during BP on Monday.  The sunglasses apparently have a flicker effect that allow you to see movement in a stuttered fashion.  It seems Goto thinks that wearing the sunglasses helps him see the movement of the ball better.  No word on whether or not that's actually the case though.

The sunglasses apparently cost 55,000 yen.

...Yusei Kikuchi not only threw 106 pitches with the catcher squatting during his indoor bullpen session on Monday, but he also threw 58 pitches with the catcher half-bent.

Kikuchi will be taking final exams across 7-8 different subjects over a period of two days.

...Hisanobu Watanabe threw about 100 pitches during early morning BP on Monday.  Seems he threw BP for the catchers.

...Yusei Kikuchi got in a final bullpen session before taking off for Iwata on Monday.  He threw 106 pitches with the catcher squatting.

...5,600 fans filled the stadium on Sunday, up from the 5,200 fans that filled the Stadium the day before.  Last year, less than half (2,000) that amount showed up at the stadium on the first Sunday.  (Incidentally, I read a report about attendance figures on Saturday incorrectly and have since made the necessary corrections.)

...Taiyo Fujita tossed BP to Dee Brown and Taketoshi Goto on Sunday.  He threw a total 45 pitches and gave up 3 could-be hits.  He also struck out Brown twice.  It seems Fujita might have a shot at becoming the team closer.

...Hideaki Wakui tossed 103 pitches during a bullpen session on Sunday.  Wakui originally planned to end his bullpen session after 64 pitches but was asked by pitching coach Tetsuya Shiozaki to throw a few more so that Yusei Kikuchi could watch.

It also seems that Shiozaki feels Kikuchi is thinking too much about his delivery.
