...NPB Commissioner Ryozo Kato was at Bay Stars' camp on Monday.

...Shun Yamaguchi has thrown a lot of pitches during Spring camp: first bullpen (2/1) - 93; second bullpen (2/2) - 120; third bullpen (2/4) - 205; fourth day (2/6) - 150; and fifth bullpen (2/7) - 157 for a grand total 725 pitches.  All in order to increase his stamina for a spot in the starting rotation.  Yamaguchi apparently never threw more than a 100 pitches when he was a reliever.

He won't be throwing any pitches Monday but has hit eyes set on throwing about 300 pitches on Tuesday.

...Teruaki Yoshikawa threw a bullpen session on Sunday.  Takao Obana caught something partway through the session and immediately began working with him on his fork (like trying various grips -- tight, loose).

...Naoyuki Shimizu felt tightness in his lower body on Sunday and stopped his bullpen session short.  Shimizu thinks it might be from throwing more this season (100+ per bullpen) than he did last season (about 60 per bullpen).  So far this year, Shimizu has throw over 400 pitches.

...The media found out on Sunday that Yosuke Shimokubo was married to a Reiko Takada back in May 2009.  The two are planning on holding a wedding ceremony sometime during the current off-season.

The two were introduced two each other through a common friend and starting dating two years ago 2/8.

...As of Sunday, it had rained every day in Ginowan, Okinawa since 1/31.
